Garamond is a family of old-style, or Garalde, typefaces inspired by the punches of Claude Garamond, a French engraver born in the sixteenth century, as well as to the work of Jean Jannon in the seventeenth century. Garamond typefaces are crafted with beautiful imperfections that evoke the hand; they thrive on paper and are found in some of the best-selling books available due to their readability, practicality, and elegance.
The Garamond typeset quickly became the European standard of its time, and its old-fashioned fanciness has maintained a high level of admiration and continued use thanks to a 1912 revival. Many contemporary Garamond interpretations are in use today, some more accurate than others. The typeface used to create this is a variation of a 1989 revision done by Adobe Systems.
